Shopbop | My experience and a big discount for you!

Vi avevo promesso che vi avrei parlato della mia esperienza su Shopbop, famosissimo sito americano che vende capi, accessori, scarpe e borse delle marche più famose – e un po’ costose – quali Michael Kors, Rebecca Minkoff, Phillip Lim, ecc… Ho avuto modo di acquistare due borse [le avete viste nel mio look con la giacca neoprene e quello con la sciarpa rossa come la borsa] a prezzi decisamente più bassi di quelli che trovate nelle boutique e di provare con mano anche l’autenticità delle suddette. Certo, perchè quando si parla di borse acquistate online e a prezzi più bassi si pensa subito ad un fake. Beh, a parte che i prezzi non sono comunque bassi – non vi stanno vendendo una Marc by Marc Jacobs a 10€, quindi quando si parla di sconti e promozioni, un 20% in meno ci sta. Se poi pensate che i prezzi sono in dollari americani, ancora meglio, l’Euro è favorevole! Detto questo, torniamo al sito. La navigazione è facilissima, i capi sono divisi in categoria o per designer, la sezione saldi inoltre è bene in vista in homepage. Fin qui nulla di strano. Ma qui arriva il bello! Registrandomi, ho avuto modo di farmi una personale lista di cose che prima o poi avrò – o che sogno, perlomeno. Per farlo basta cliccare sui cuori accanto ai capi, accessori, scarpe o borse e i capi andranno direttamente nella lista di “cuori” nel nostro account Shopbop. Se un oggetto della nostra lista diventa scontato o sta andando a ruba e pochi pezzi sono rimasti disponibili.. Shopbop ti manda una mail! Così sono riuscita a comprare le mie due borse a prezzi scontati, aspettando la mail che mi notificava che le mie borse erano effettivamente a saldo! Fantastico no?
Passiamo alle cose importanti ora: tempo e costo della spedizione. Allora, una volta messi i capi nel carrello vengono fatte prima di tutto le domande di rito: registrazione, indirizzo di spedizione e indirizzo di fatturazione (che può essere uguale o diverso a quello di spedizione). Fatto ciò arriva la parte “strana”. Essendo capi provenienti dall’America, di buona fattura e, spesso, pesanti, (e dato che Shopbop dichiara nei pacchi espressamente il contenuto) si può incorrere in tasse doganali – anche piuttosto alte. Allora, quali sono le soluzioni? Per ordini inferiori ai 100$, si paga 10$ per qualsiasi tipo di spedizione, sopra quella soglia è gratis. Dopodiché Shopbop vi da fondamentalmente 2 possibilità: pagare subito le tasse doganali o pagarle al fattorino alla consegna. Nel secondo caso si può scegliere tra spedizione express con numero di tracciamento di spedizione oppure spedizione normale senza tracciamento e, ovviamente, più lenta. Nel primo caso, la spedizione è automaticamente la express con tassa doganale inclusa, piuttosto alta devo dire. Io ho provato quella, ho pagato le spese doganali in anticipo e le mie borse sono arrivate dopo pochissimi giorni, circa 5. Ma quanto ho speso veramente di tasse? Dopo 90 giorni Shopbop stesso fa il check delle ricevute doganali e fa un controllo sulle tasse spese dai clienti: se le tasse effettivamente pagate hanno un importo inferiore a quelle pagate dall’utente, quest’ultimo viene rimborsato. Facile, no? Facendo così non solo siamo sicuri di pagare la tassa corretta, se presente, al momento dello sdoganamento, ma non dobbiamo nemmeno avere il cruccio di dover pagare il corriere. Io, ad esempio, avendo una reception che prende i pacchi al posto mio, sarebbe stato un problema! Non è autorizzata – né tantomeno ha voglia – di pagare al posto mio.
Per concludere: i prezzi finali sono alti ma la qualità e i prezzi superiori degli stessi capi in una qualsiasi boutique, secondo me, dissipano ogni dubbio: comprate online e fatelo su Shopbop! Non vi ho ancora convinti? Ok, da oggi alle 13.00 e fino al 30 Novembre, ci sono dei super saldi!!! Il 15% per ordini da 250$ in su, il 20% per ordini da 500$ in su e il 25% per ordini da 1000$ in su!! Che aspettate? Also, i could try them with my hands confirming the authenticity of the above. Sure, because when you hear about bags purchased online and at lower prices you immediately think about a fake. Well, consider that the prices are not really low – they are not selling a Marc by Marc Jacobs at 10$ – so when it comes to promotions and discounts, a 20% less on them the price comes out.
Navigation is easy, the items are divided into category or designer, the sales section is also clearly visible on the homepage. So far nothing strange. But here comes the fun part! By registering, I managed to create a list of things that sooner or later I will have – or that dream, at least. To do so you can just click on the hearts next to garments, accessories, shoes or bags and garments will go directly in the list of “hearts” in your Shopbop account. If an item on our list goes on sale or there are few pieces available .. Shopbop sends you an email! So I managed to buy my two bags at a discount, waiting for the email that notified me that my bags were actually on balance! Great, right?
Get on with the important things now: time and cost of shipping. Then, once the leaders are put in the basket, you have to do the standard things: registration, shipping address and billing address (which may be the same or different to that of the shipping one). Without this comes the “strange” part. You have to pay for custom duties, according to the fact that you are buying something from US. So what are the solutions? For orders less than $100, you pay $10 for any type of shipment methods, above that threshold is free. Then Shopbop gives you basically two choices: pay at the moment the custom fees or pay them to the carrier at the delivery. In the second case you can choose between express shipping with tracking number or normal shipping without tracking number that is, of course, slower. In the first case, the express shipping is automatically included with customs fee, I have to say quite high. I tried that, I paid customs fees in advance and my bags arrived a few days later, about 5. But what I really spent in taxes? After 90 days Shopbop itself check receipts about customs and makes a check on tax expenses from customers: if the taxes actually paid have an amount less than that paid by the user, the latter will be reimbursed. Easy, right? Doing so we are sure of paying the correct fee, if any, at the time of customs clearance and also we should not have the worry of having to pay the carrier. 
To conclude: the final prices are high but the quality and the higher prices of the same item in any boutique, in my opinion, dispel all doubt: buy online and do it on Shopbop!
