No, I am not gone nuts. Now, you tell me, doesn’t this outfit look like a pirate look? The shirt is made of lace and puff sleeves, that are also going out of the light blazer. The lace boots (you saw them already HERE) are my favorite and they are perfect for this look (and they give this rock-is vibe). The belt, big around the waist, marks that point and it seems the holster of a gun or the holder for a sward or a saber or whatever pirates were bringing with them (I think I saw too many movies).
I paired those components, a little bit “vintage” and romantic, to those striped culotte pants, moderns and with the same colors of the look. Brown and white that are matching with the rest and the blue to break the boring ton-sur-ton. This model is hard to die, it has been on trend for several seasons and now you can’t afford to not have a pair of culotte pants in your wardrobe. The hat? Is not really pirate-ish, but I am pretty sure Jack Sparrow will appreciate. Or maybe he appreciated only Rhum.
Sometimes culotte pants are quite hard to wear, as they tend to wider the figure. It’s important to mark the waist (as I always do) and play with proportions. For example, I could have worn a skinny and short top, but since temperatures didn’t allow me to, I decided to get the help of a loose blazer to adjust the silhouette from the side, and make more visible the waist at that point.
Do you like the look? Would you wear striped culotte pants? Do you have a pair of culotte pants in your wardrobe?
