I showed you this dress among my “new ins” before Christmas on IG Stories, bought on Shopbop – you know it’s my favorite website to buy high quality, fancy and fashion stuff. It’s a black lace dress with a cream-pink background, making it feel nude without showing anything underneath. It’s delicate and romantic, and I decided to wear it with both modern and vintage accessories.
Lace dress, between vintage and modern
The Mary Jane’s style heels are the first romantic touch to the whole outfit, making the dress feel like coming from charleston era – without fringes and sparkles. Moreover, the coat is a real vintage piece. It was my nanny’s coat, and I am wearing it like her, a little bit oversize. Sometimes I put a belt to mark the waist and make the coat more feminine. That day the belt was just a nice addition to the dress itself. The list of modern accessories that I paired with this dress, starts exactly from the belt and the bag, both from Gucci, with nude pink shades. In addition, there is my Charlie Chaplin hat, that could actually go in the vintage bucket if only wasn’t coming from H&M. Eheh. The lace dress is from BB Dakota, one of the brands that I love the most and that I shop the most on Shopbop, and now it’s also on sale!
The final effect is a romantic look that can become more gritty without the oversize coat and the hat. It’s perfect for a lovely night out for dinner, in a chic pub, to go to the theatre or just to walk with your beloved one. I think I will wear this dress a lot in summer time, for chic nights out, since it’s adorable without tights and with nude heeled sandals. What do you think?
Do you like the look? How would you have styled this lace dress?
