How many of you have started the new year with the good intention of going to the gym? Raise your hands! (I bet you are in front of the PC with your hand up and you are also a bit ashamed about it). Don’t worry, I know, we all thought “I will definitely get in shape!” and again we did not even have bought a subscription to the gym, or we did it but we are not going. Now I give you some advice on how to be motivated to go to the gym – and to go there for real!
1 – Do not give up glamor even in the gym
Often the most boring thing of the gym is the clothes you have to wear. Going to the gym with a dirty and shabby duffel bag or using some t-shirts that maybe you won’t even wear as a pajama, does not really encourage you to go and change you in the changing room. In fact, you are ashamed to carry around that bag that stinks like mold, aren’t you? It is also important to take care of yourself while going to the gym, to be even more enticed. For example, I started going to the gym with my new gym bag by Kipling. Pearl gray, shiny silver, is perfect for any look. 2 – Start in the morning with the idea of going to the gym and not passing from home
One of the worst things for me is having to go home before going to the gym: once at home I never go out again. Instead, it is important to go to the gym either early in the morning, at lunch break or immediately after work. In any case, the idea is to bring the gym bag with you and then go straight to work, or go to the gym immediately after work. If you do not have a car, once again the bag helps: having a spacious and fashionable gym bag, comfortable but glamor, helps your spirit to bring it back from the moment you leave the house, so you do not have to go over it: you already have everything with you and you’re ready to go to the gym. The extra idea? Buy a subscription to a gym near work or university, rather than at home.
3 – Playlist that pumps
Take Spotify, iTunes or any other way you can listen to music and create your own personal workout playlist. The right playlist will give you the power to tackle all the workouts you need to do, and it will also make the time go by faster. Focusing on music, you will not think about how much you are struggling to get things done.
4 – The gym makeup (the right one!)
In the gym you sweat. You do not want to block your pores with sweat and foundation, don’t you? Imagine then having your kajal melting from your eyes, or worse, having a shiny face. When you are at the gym, you need to stay light to allow your skin to breathe. If you can not get rid of your foundation, go for a colorful moisturizer and a touch of waterproof mascara. You are nice, without having a mask.
I leave you with my look that I often wear when I go to work: the comfortable shoes allow me to do the long walk I do every morning to get to work, the Kipling gym bag allows me to have everything with me, remaining fashionable. Here is another idea: bring spare shoes for when you get to work, if you do not like the idea of being with sneakers all day!
